Najla El Zein (Space / Product Designer)
After graduating in 2007 with a degree in Product
Design and a Master in Interior Architecture from the prestigious EcoleCamondo,
Najla El Zein has lived and worked in Paris and Rotterdam until 2010.
In
2011, she opened her Beirut-based design studio, keen to live in a country
still unfamiliar to her. Najla has been selected by the
Starch Foundation in 2011 as an interior and product designer and was
commissioned with several space installations by renowned artists and more such
as RabihKayrouz and AzzaFahmy.
Najla exhibited at the Boghossian Foundation in
Brussels in 2012. Her work is best known for its conceptual approach to
space and objects where she often uses commonplace materials in unsuspecting
contexts such as hair, spoons, wax, paper and wind.
Najla gained much of her
recognition thanks to the installations at Piaff Boutique and her 6302
spoons lamp sculpture.
