I spent the last four years studying in London, where I graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA in Fashion Print. I spent my sandwich placement year in Paris working for Louis Vuitton and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Other placements include working for Alexander McQueen, ZuhairMurad and George Hobeika. In 2010 I won the Liberty Art Fabrics Award, where my winning print design was sold at the renowned British department store, Liberty & Co. I also did some freelance work creating T-shirt prints for Alexander McQueen, TreeShirt and a small capsule collection of printed silk scarves for a London based jewelry brand named La Diosa. I recently had an exhibition at Rosa Maria Concept store in Lebanon showcasing my final collection from university and few life drawings. I currently do freelance illustrations for Leo Burnett and magazines such as F/I/M/P while working full-time at Bokja Design studio, where I re-create patchworks into prints. For as long as I can remember, painting and drawing have always been a part of my life. My work and inspirations will always revolve around the raw beauty, mysteries and imperfections of life, where I will continuously attempt to illustrate and re-create my visions through Fashion, Illustration and Painting.

It was while studying Architecture at the UP-Paris Villemin, ex-École des Beaux Arts in Paris (D.P.L.G 1986) that Nabil Gholam first turned a hobby – photography – into a professional pursuit. He started a photography studio in Paris in 1980 before moving to New York six years later to complete his studies at Columbia University (MS Hons. Urban Planning). Throughout his career as an architect and planner, his passion for photography and more specifically for its focus on the visible or not so visible have been an intrinsic part of how his work develops.

Since its foundation in 1994, nabil gholam architects (nga) has grown into a multidisciplinary firm with a portfolio that spans a broad range of projects in architecture and urbanism. nga has won numerous international competitions and awards over the years, and its work has been consistently featured in local and international publications. As of 2006, a European branch of nga was established in Barcelona, to later relocate to Seville in 2010, in order to oversee the firm’s international ventures.

Curiosity, creativity, expertise and design excellence continue to be the driving forces behind nga´s multicultural team of designers.
