Margherita
(Ghita) Abi-Hanna obtained her Bachelor in Graphic Design from the American
University of Beirut, following which she worked as a senior designer with
local design and communication agency Mind the Gap as well as on her own. In
2009 she moved to Italy to attend a one year master program in accessories
design at Domus Academy in Milan. Currently relocated in
Beirut, Ghita launched her own line of contemporary jewelry and leather
accessories in 2010. Her self-named brand Margherita strives to create
unique, bold and architectural designs, for the most part carefully hand-crafted
by Lebanese artisans. She made her debut in 2010 at the Starch boutique that
aims to promote young designers. Margherita was recently shortlisted among the
ten finalist at the ITS 2012 Jewelry competition held in collaboration
with Swarovski in Trieste.
